So, who's Glenn?

I'm a semi-retired self-employed Finance Broker/Credit Advisor. I'm married to Helen, with a composite family of five adult children and six grandchildren ranging from adults to newborn.

What were you in your other life?

I was employed by a major Australian bank for more than 34 years, with senior Branch Management and Senior Lending roles, including a stint with Auditing Lending quality.

How did you become involved with Rotary? 

I was involved in Community volunteerism from the young age of eight when joining Scouts Australia, and then through to the Citizens Military Force, receiving a recommendation to become an Officer at the age of seventeen. I played competitively: rugby league, golf and squash. Then I joined Apex Australia in my mid-twenties moving to club President within one-year and onto the Zone Board the following year. After the Apex term, I moved into Primary & High school P & Cs, volunteering in Football (Soccer - local, district and state levels), Brass Banding (local and zone level) and I was involved with the Beefsteak & Burgundy club. But my Rotary International journey started relatively late in life when I went to my first meeting in 2007. In 2015 I was asked to be the District Conference Treasurer, which led to being appointed the District Treasurer. This is the role I still hold.

What club do you belong to?

I'm a member of Townsville Sunrise, a men's club and the largest in QLD & NT. This club formed the Townsville Saints, which is an all female club. I have been my club's Treasurer, On its Red Socks committee, and part of its Protection & Global Grants committees.
