Rotary Club of Discovery Coast Shelterbox Australia Champion

Kieryn Deutrom Volunteer Program Manager ShelterBox Australia —

There has been a lot of need for boxes following the earthquake in Haiti.

Congratulations Discovery Coast Rotary on being announced a 2021 ShelterBox Bronze Champion Award winner! You are part of an elite group of Rotary Clubs in Australia that provided continued support over the last 3 years to ensure families were sheltered after disaster.

The Club will be posted ShelterBox Bronze Champion Award certificates this week. They also have access to Bronze Champion Award digital logos and social media tiles for all their communications over the next year.

With only 74 Rotary Clubs around Australia that received a ShelterBox Champion Award in 2021, little Discovery Coast Rotary is part of an elite group in being a Bronze partner in disaster relief.

ShelterBox cordially invited the Club, President and club members to attend the 2021 ShelterBox Champion Awards Virtual Ceremony being held on Tuesday 5th October at 7pm AEDT / 4pm AWST
As a ShelterBox Champion Award winner in 2021, they were invited  to join other winners across Australia to celebrate their combined achievement of donating over $440,000 over 3 years to provide emergency shelter for families in need.
For those that would like to attend our ShelterBox Champion Awards Virtual Ceremony please reply to Kieryn Deutrom and register attendee names. Anyone that registers attendance will be sent the ceremony meeting details.
Feel free to forward the attached media release to clubs in your area and extend the invitation.

Thank you and we look forward to celebrating together.Kieryn

ShelterBox Australia : THE WHY?

As you are aware, Haiti is in crisis after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit the country last month. More than 135,000 homes are reported to be damaged or destroyed and over 2,200 fatalities have been confirmed.

ShelterBox has sent a team to the Caribbean region to support people who have lost their homes. Over the coming weeks we will be providing essential items that families desperately need, including shelter kits, blankets, solar lights, and basic household items.
