Nick Butler and Vy Owen —

Shhh...it's a secret but it changed who I am.

"Signed up to RYLA for the week long program expecting a bit of a muck around and something resembling a school camp.

I left after the week having done so many things I never would have considered possible for me beforehand. (Wish I could be more specific but I promised not to spoil the surprise)

I met some really interesting people who encouraged and supported me the whole way. I made some friendships in one week that I shared more with than some I’ve had for years. I was put under pressure and felt pushed to improve myself, but not thrown in the deep end to drown.

The learning, camaraderie and fun shared amongst the participants in this program is awesome and will leave you with a lot to reflect on.

If you are on the fence about signing up for RYLA, my personal experience is that this program will improve your leadership, character and perspective on life, so it is well worth the week off work.

As far as I know, there is nothing like this program out there and it is very effective.

Dear Club Members

I’m just writing to thank you all so much for giving me the opportunity to attend and be apart of RYLA 2022.

Initially I was apprehensive of what RYLA could offer but after being involved in this incredible problem all my doubts were quickly washed away. I have gained an unimaginable amount of insight into what both personal and group leadership skills, as well as making friends of various mindsets/circumstances.

Thank you for your support and providing the opportunity to young people like myself, I look forward to getting involved in other youth enhancement programs with the help of Rotary and Roteract.

I wish all the best Rotary’s future and look forward to where this choice may take me!

Kindest regards and many thanks,

Vy Owen
