August was Membership Month, but every month is about our members

As DG, I love Darwin South's Bulletin promoting FUN as a key goal. We have shared so many laughs with new friends and clubs along the way, and see the deep friendships that develop.

10 Strategies that Grow Your Rotary Memberships

  • Know Where Your Members are (and Promote there). Chat to people and ask if they have considered joining Rotary.
  • Host Events. Collaborate with other groups. Be visual in your community.  Keep your marketing accurate.
  • Keep Existing Members Happy.
  • Get Feedback from Current Members. Do a three year Action and Visioning Plan.
  • Provide Digital Support accessing our new club Outlook email system, and teach members how to access My Rotary and the Brand Centre. Ask for District help on this through your Area Governors.
  • Celebrate the Renewal Process and Changeovers, and achievements.  Share your celebrations as widely as you can.
  • Create purpose.
  • Create Meaningful and Memorable Programs.

PDG Merewyn Wright is making sure all new members are welcomed on our District 9560 Facebook page. I thank her for this service. Here is Merewyn's message on this below:

"Has your club inducted a new member, or are you about to?

We would like to give all new members a big welcome to Rotary on the Rotary District 9560 Northern Australia and Timor Leste Facebook page - but you need to tell us so we can do this.

Two ways to let us know:

Post a photo on your club's Facebook page and tag the District page (type the @ symbol and start typing the name of the District page, then select). This will alert our page admins, and we will share it to the District page.

Email the photo to me at socialmedia@rotary9560.org

Whichever method you choose, tell us a bit about the new member, including name (first name and surname), and any other interesting information e.g. their classification/occupation. Also tell us the names (and roles) of the other people in the photo - i.e. club president, member's sponsor.

Looking forward to your help with this! Let's Grow Rotary!"
