DISTRICT GRANTS UPDATE

Robyn Dowling, District Grants Chair —

Robyn Dowling as District Grants Chair provides a District Grants Update to all of District 9560

23 applications were received by 30 April 2021 from Clubs all over District 9560. The projects covered Rotary’s 7 Areas of Focus Education, Environment, Health and hygiene, Fighting Disease, Peace and Conflict Prevention, Community Economic Development. There is great diversity amongst the projects and all are very worthwhile.

The review process, included checking applications for all criteria required, followed by a committee meeting, during which it was agreed to distribute the funds as equitably as possible, to ensure all Clubs received some funding for their projects. Due to re-districting and a new Foundation IT system, there have been some delays in distributing the funds.

All Clubs who have been approved for a District Grant have been notified and should have received their first instalment in their designated accounts by now. The remainder will be distributed once the project has been completed and acquitted on the required form. Date for completion of the project is 31 May 2022.

District Grants are a wonderful example of the Foundation helping Rotary Clubs address local needs. Approved Projects can be seen in the photo below.
