Rotary Club of Monto Car Rally and combined Club activity
The Rotary Club of Gladstone-Port loved going out this month to support their Monto Rotary friends run their car rally and enjoy joint fun.
On Saturday 31st July 2021, The Rotary Club of Gladstone - Port Curtis had a fellowship weekend at the Monto Car Rally. A total of 20 of our club members, partners. family and friends were happy to support the Monto Rotary Club held at the Monto showground at 12pm. All monies raised through the BBQ, raffles, sales of beverages and registering for the rally go towards the Monto Rotary Club.
Close to 30 participated in vehicles, on motorbikes and some vehicles teamed up with 4. The complete circuit took approximately 2 hours. Once the last vehicle arrived back safely, speeches, prizes and raffles ended the day.
The Port Curtis Rotary Club took out 1st Prize - John Whitten and his team in their on-road category. 3rd Prize - Lockey and Annie) on the Off-road category and the prize for coming last in this category was our very own "Director of Fellowship" and his wife Dave and Shauna Taylor, who won a 50ml Ring Spanner and scored a minus 3.
I have to say they weren't the only one in our club who were questioned on their true whereabouts on the rally. But in their confession, they were thanked for advertising the rally at the Mungungo Pub.
