Rotary District 5150 : making Rotary and Education a focus
More than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. That’s 17 percent of the world’s adult population, so as Rotarians, let's do all we can to build awareness of the importance of this issue. It impacts upon Community and Economic Development, Peace and Conflict, and human well-being.
As Rotarians, one of our goals is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy. We need to publicise what we do and what we achieve. We support education for all children and literacy for children and adults.

District 5150 is doing their bit. Did you see it?
Rotary International's float, "Changing the World through Education," just debuted in the 133rd annual Rose Parade. Rotary International President Shekar Mehta accompanied the float, and our own District 5150 Governor, Danielle Lallement, was one of the out-walkers!
