Cycling for mental health

PDG Dick White OAM —

Seeking support for an R100 event to take place on Friday 9th April and Saturday 10th April 2021.

This is an effort by a Rotarian to raise awareness of the current surge in mental health problems and to gain support for our national community service project, Australian Rotary Health. As you would realise, mental health research is needed more than ever.

Rotarian Mel Gray (72) is a late comer to cycling, but despite having two artificial knees, two artificial ankles and an artificial wrist, he has challenged himself to ride on a static bike for 24 hours, in the hope others will join him on a static bike or on the road to raise funds to keep our researchers working to solve the many challenges of mental health.

If you would like to hear from Mel, he has recorded an interview which can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZk_C9dQsiw&feature=youtu.be

Your interest and support of our “bionic” Rotarian would be much appreciated.
