The Rotary Club of Gladstone held its 70th anniversary dinner at the Grand Hotel on 17th September.

President Graham Moeller —

The old and the new were celebrated in great style.

Master of Ceremonies Tot Moran introduced visiting Rotarians and guests and John Samuel proposed the international toast.

Nance Davies introduced new member Tash Johnson and DG Adele performed the induction.

There was a sad moment while we watched a video of a eulogy to long time Rotarian Siegie Hohne. Siegie was indeed a fantastic member of our club and we all miss him.

Wade and Nance gave a very informative presentation on the early years of the club including Nance’s time in Rotariannes.

Several members and past members read excerpts from the 50 year history book relating to past projects undertaken by the club.

Kerry Hughes who was presented with Paul Harris Fellow recognition by DG Adele. Kerry is a very deserving recipient of the PHF due to the many hours of dedication she has given to the club as well as the community.

Sergeant at Arms Anthony (Chops) Williams gave a very entertaining sergeants session and then we watched a hilarious video of previous Rotary functions. You would be surprised what those guys got up to back then.
