Rotary Club of Mackay North, lets power on for the next 50 years!

The Rotary Club of Mackay North was admitted to Rotary on the 18th March 1970, having been sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mackay West.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Mackay North Club and it is fitting that the Club celebrates this momentous occasion with an Anniversary dinner and to renew acquaintances with former members.

The original celebratory dinner was scheduled for Saturday, 21st March 2020 however due to the Covid-19 Crisis the dinner was postponed.

The rescheduled dinner was held on Saturday, the 21st November, and what a great night we had. A great attendance of members, visiting Rotarians, guests as well as past members.

Mayor Greg Williamson and Annette, VC Keith Payne, and a number of PDGs were notable among the attendees.

A huge thank you to the organising committee Mark Lean (Chairman), Pat Crompton (Secretary), Frank Caruana and Kent Lyons (Committee Members) along with all the helpers who pitched in to make the night such a success.

Special mention for Ruth Lyons who prepared all the magnificent table decorations. Also, Pat’s session on past members and the antics that went on was brilliant.

Not to forget the end with Tommy’s song, absolutely fantastic, what a great talent we have in Tommy.

What a great club we have, it is certainly a great privilege and a humbling experience the be able to be the President of a group such as the Rotary Club of Mackay North, lets power on for the next 50 years.
