District Governor 2026-27

Merewyn Wright —

Nominations sought for District 9560 Governor 2026-27.

District Governor Prath is seeking nominations for a suitably qualified Rotarian to lead the District as District Governor in the 2026-2027 year. Changes to the role of the District Governor are being piloted as part of the Zone 8 Regionalisation Pilot. The pilot is scheduled to conclude in June 2026, following which there will be a review of the pilot outcomes, and further decisions will be made concerning the future role of the District Governor.

Any applicants for the role of District Governor in 2026-27 must be advised that the responsibilities at that time will be different to the current District Governor role as defined by Rotary International in the RI Bylaws Article 16.030.

It is anticipated the tasks may be different to those of previous Governors but the leadership qualities to support Clubs through change will be as important as always.

Clubs should submit their suggestions for Nominee on the Governor-Nominee Designate Form (a copy of which is attached). Please note that the club secretary is required to sign the form attesting that the suggested nominee has been endorsed by a resolution of the club at a regular meeting of the club.

Please refer to the following attachments (below) for more information:
