Bridging the gap

President Roy Johnston - RC Gladstone Port Curtis —

The Rotary Club of Gladstone Port Curtis recently welcomed to their rotary meeting Rotakids from Gladstone West State School, Interact Students from Gladstone State High School, and Gladstone Rotaract members.

Rotary members from Calliope & Rotaract clubs, visitors and special guest District Governor Adele Hughes and husband Wade were also welcomed.

President Roy opened the meeting welcoming the 95 attendees.

The Rotakids showed confidence and passion as they spoke about their journey and projects they have accomplished (video).

Our Interact students are striving ahead with their commitment on their special projects within the community.

Rotaract past president Chris Doring gave us an insight of Rotaract and their fundraising events which has been donated back into the community. We enjoyed the slide show of their fellowship outings and in general their social get togetherness.

The evening was a great way of showing how to bridge the gap to our Rotakids, Interact & Rotaract members and the transition from one club to another as their journey goes on and finally into a Rotary Club.
