District Governor-Elect Prath attends International Assembly
District Governor-Elect Sabaratnam (Prath) Prathapan, accompanied by wife Inthu, attended the Rotary International Assembly held in Orlando, Florida from 8 - 12 January, at which the Presidential Theme for 2023-24 was announced.
The International Assembly is Rotary's annual training meeting, giving incoming district governors the chance to share ideas for strengthening clubs and improving communities with Rotary leaders from around the world. Keynote speakers and informative presentations inspire and prepare District Governors-Elect to lead their districts successfully, and breakout sessions introduce new ways of creating positive change.
Rotary International President-elect R. Gordon R. McInally announced his presidential theme for 2023-24 "Create Hope in the World" during the first General Session at the Assembly.
In announcing his theme, McInally, a member of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry, West Lothian, Scotland, urged members to promote peace in troubled nations, help those affected by conflict, and maintain the momentum of initiatives begun by past leaders.
"The goal is to restore hope — to help the
world heal from destructive conflicts and, in turn, to help us achieve lasting
change for ourselves," McInally said.
