Driver Volunteers sought for bus donated to Gluyas Lodge by North Queensland Rotarians

AG Trevor Hyatt —

Neil Klein and his team from the Rotary Club of Thuringowa Central led the appeal to raise the necessary funds.

Recently Rotary was able to provide a brand new bus to the Qld Cancer Council for use at the Rotary Gluyas Lodge in North Ward.

An exceptional effort by clubs in the greater Townsville region. These included: the Rotary Club of Thuringowa, Sunrise Rotary Townsville, Rotary Club of Townsville Daybreak, Rotary Club of Townsville Central, Port of Townsville Rotary Club, Rotary Club of Mt Isa South West, Rotary Club of Hinchinbrook, and Rotary Airlie Beach.

Now that the Cancer Council has a bus again, they are looking for more Volunteer drivers.

The Bus can be driven by anyone with a car licence and is used to ferry people from Rotary Gluyas Lodge to and from Townsville University hospital as well as shopping trips and excursions around Townsville.

If you could please circulate this request among your members we would be very grateful.

The link below provides all the information and contact will be direct with Katie at Rotary Gluyas Lodge

Kind Regards
