Our QBFP officers recently teamed up with the Rotary Club of Mackay to provide fishing equipment as part of the work they are doing in Western Province of the Solomon Islands. We donated 12 monofilament nets to villages on the Island of New Georgia for subsistence fishing. The nets had been seized by QBFP officers from illegal fishers across North Queensland. While normal practice is for the forfeited nets to be destroyed, we made an exception on this occasion to help out.
