Tell the world that Rotarians are Smart, Compassionate, Inspiring and Persevering, SCIP.

What is the most important reason that Rotary clubs strive to maintain an active Facebook presence? To attract new Rotarians and encourage community support of Rotary service projects.

There are many Facebook users in our community. Facebook updates provide a huge opportunity to connect with Facebook users and grow your club membership.

When people are thinking about joining Rotary, the first thing they do is research the local clubs.

Your Facebook page provides your club with the opportunity to showcase Rotary as a dynamic organisation, dedicated to community service, philanthropic activities, fun and fellowship.

Your Facebook site complements your club’s website to enhance our relationships with our community and educate those interested in understanding our values and impact. When we feature our charity work or highlight a new club member, we encourage others to get involved or be enticed to find out more!

Many hands make light work! Most members are registered on Facebook so challenge all those people to be active on your club and district pages.

When Rotarians engage with our Facebook pages by providing useful content, pictures or a “like”, we become Rotary brand ambassadors.

When this happens, something powerful occurs on Facebook...INFLUENCE. Our brand ambassadors’ SHARING of their content INFLUENCES others to become INVOLVED by joining and/or supporting Rotary.

How can you immediately boost the effectiveness of your Rotary Facebook page?

• INVITE your friends to follow the page, using the INVITE link.

• LIKE and SHARE posts that excite or inspire you to your personal page.

• TAG sponsors or your Rotary district page if a post is relevant or beneficial.

• Make sure your photos show the diversity of your membership.

• Post only your best photos of people of action.
