Key highlights as at 31 October 2023

Zone 8 continues to grow with +331 since the start of the Rotary year. However, we anticipate membership numbers to drop in the lead up to the January invoice. Even though checking in with members is something we ideally do throughout the year, now is a critical time to discuss the membership experience as people often question their decision to remain a member.

D9620 leads the zone with +56 Rotarians since 1 July 2023. This is followed by D9640 with +40 and D9660 with + 33.

  • Highest % net growth: D9910 (3.38%)
  • Highest % of female members: D9640 (38.19%)
  • Highest % of members under 40: D9910 (8.28%)
  • Highest % for retention: D9820 (98.86%)
  • Highest no. of membership leads admitted to Rotary: D9910 (5)

18 districts had positive growth and 2 districts had negative growth. Click on Zone 8 district comparison to 1 July 2023 for more information.

New club development

Since 1 July we have welcomed three Rotary clubs and two satellite clubs. The newest two are:

  • Rotary Club of Greenlane, D9920 (Auckland, New Zealand)
  • Rotary Satellite Club of Whanganui North Starburst, D9940 (New Zealand). This club has a particular focus on women’s issues and domestic violence
