It was a wonderful surprise to receive the great news that all the students at the Faye Cran Chem Chem School (FCCCS) in Tanzania have been highly successful in this first year of the school’s existence. Many thanks to fellow Rotarians in D9970 who are active supporters of this project.

“I am happy to tell you that I have just heard that every child at Faye Cran passed the National Examinations and that the school was placed number 16 out of 318. The teachers and kids from very poor families, who were unable to pay school fees, have done us proud!

Best wishes and thanks for giving the children a chance in life, which they would not have had without you. Faye”

Riccarton Rotary has taken the opportunity this year to continue it’s engagement with FCCCS by working with the 'Empowering Girls' focus of President Shekar Mehta. By providing funding for appropriate menstrual products for girls who would otherwise be absent from their learning during significant periods of the year, Rotary has ensured the girls have been able to sustain their education uninterrupted.
