SINGAPORE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION 25-29 MAY 2024
It is time to get ready and plan your stay in Singapore.
Article by PDG Jennifer Scott, Chair of the 2024 International Convention Committee
It is time to get ready and plan your stay in Singapore. And it’s not too late to register! Especially there are some great flight deals with Singapore Airlines. Use the code RIC24 and travel between 11 May and 12 June. There are some great pre and post tours on the HOC website as well as a post-convention tour to Cambodia with Sustainable Cambodia. Check out this wonderful project.
The 2024 Convention will feature signature events. Just click the Signature Events page on the Convention website. Why not start your Convention experience with an evening at the GastroBeats festival. This is a perfect place for a district wide meetup and an opportunity to celebrate Singapore’s culinary and musical culture. The venue is at Bayfront, right next to the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre. You can book tables for groups when you purchase tickets. Or experience Singapore’s famous chilli crab dinner at Jumbo Seafoods on Monday evening.
There will be two opening sessions on Sunday. You will soon be advised which session you are allocated to. If your session conflicts with other events you are registered for, you can watch the opening from the House of Friendship. Unfortunately, we are unable to reallocate people to another session. Allocation will be based on time and date on your registration.
The opening session will have great speakers and amazing entertainment, featuring both Singaporean and Scottish acts.
Perhaps start planning which breakout sessions you want to attend. The full list is on the Convention website. Each day the general sessions will feature speakers who will inspire and provide you with ideas to take home to your clubs and district. Tuesday will focus on The Rotary Foundation, in particular Rotary’s global focus to eradicate polio. Perhaps wear your polio t-shirt on Tuesday. The Convention will finish with our current and future leaders as well as our own DGE Michael Lapina entertaining us. Finally, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers will have you dancing in the aisles. So come and join your Rotary friends as we Share Hope with the World.
