PDG Lindsay May —

District Grants are available as a result of your club and personal generous contributions to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund

Article by PDG Lindsay May OAM, Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator

District Grants fund small-scale, short-term activities that address needs in your community and communities abroad.

Districts can apply annually for up to 50% of District Designated Fund for distribution to clubs, as requested.

In District 9685, District Grants are in strong demand and have a $$ limit and will be funded up to 50%. The District Grants Committee determines the funding Terms and Conditions and approvals (within TRF guidelines).

The projects should be completed in a Rotary year. Preferably be closed and reported on by end May, in case others in the queue can use funds before 30 June.

District Grants are an ideal pathway into Global Grants, as clubs should follow a similar process as apply to a Global Grant, but in a more simple and streamlined process.

Note that Grant funding is available from many sources beyond Rotary. It’s worthwhile researching these as you will be amazed at what can be funded with Rotarians implementing the projects.

See https://my.rotary.org/en/take-action/apply-grants/district-grants for more details and resources. It is important to be aware of the Rotary Foundation's Terms and conditions for District Grants - here is a direct link to these Terms and Conditions for Rotary Foundation District Grants.

(Please note that 3. A. only applies to your District in their one-off annual application for funding).

Districts are able to include additional District specific Terms and Conditions for individual club District Grants, so it is important for you to be aware of these too.
