Managing Social Media Issues

Join us for our first session of 2024 where Sadie Daugherty, Rotary International’s Social Media Community Management Specialist shares her insights on social media best practices, specifically diving into Facebook best practices and the do’s and don’ts of Facebook groups. She will also help you navigate the digital landscape and learn effective strategies for online engagement. Whilst Sadie cannot provide information on Facebook removing pages as this issue has not been solved yet, she will happily touch on the topic and provide possible routes to contact Facebook for assistance.

About Sadie:
Sadie’s work lies in connecting with people globally to showcase the incredible work that Rotary does. She holds a graduate degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in Washington, DC, where she honed her skills in understanding and addressing global challenges. Outside of work, Sadie is an avid traveller, photographer, painter, and reader. Whether capturing moments, expressing creativity on canvas, or exploring new worlds through literature, she discovers inspiration everywhere in the world. Sadie is very excited to connect and share with us all!

Join us for our March session as Garry Browne discusses how Rotary’s reputation and relevance is dependent on our personal brand as Rotary members.

About Garry:

Garry’s professional expertise has stretched over four decades in building brands both commercial and personal. He has developed and grown some of the best-known consumer brands in Australia and been the catalyst for helping people young and not so young in building their own personal brands. This involvement extends to community and profit for purpose organisations.

Garry now divides his time between roles in the Corporate, Government and the Not-for-Profit space, as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman including, mentoring and philanthropic projects. He currently Chairs the Boards of Stuart Alexander, UNSW International House Residential College and the Charlie Teo Foundation; a Director of The Australian War Memorial ANZAC Foundation, a Council Member of The Centre for Social Impact Advisory Council, an Ambassador for Legacy Australia and Future Generation; Director of Rotary Foundation Australia, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology Sydney. He was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in 2014.

Garry also recently wrote a book, Brand New Brand You and has a Podcast called The Personal Brand Catalyst.
