Zone 8 membership snapshot

As expected at this time of the year, our membership started to drop by the end of May as clubs prepare for the club invoice. We finished the month with a net loss of 79, though in the last weeks of June we have already seen membership plummet to a loss of close to 300.

8 districts had positive growth in May: 7 in Australian districts and 1 (D9910) in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. D9620 remains at the top of the leader board with +67. D9455 still holds on to second place with +34 while D9650 goes into third place with +30.

The zone has chartered 7 new Rotary clubs, but also terminated 14 to give us a net loss of 7 clubs.

As our membership numbers drop, so does our retention rate, going from 92.23% to 91.12%. Clubs with membership goals continued to rise, from to 43.1% to 44.7%.

The zone average for female representation remains relatively stable at 29.9% though the percentage of members under 40 has fallen slightly to 3.8%.
