PDG Andy Rajapakse in a new role as RI President's 'Specialized Representative’ to the Philippines

Rotary International President Jennifer Jones has appointed Zone 8 Assistant Rotary Coordinator PDG Andy Rajapakse from District 9640, who is our new style club specialist, as her "Specialized President's Representative" to the Rotary District 3770 Conference this April in the Philippines in Zone 10A. Specialized President's Representative, is a new initiative by Jennifer Jones.

District 3770 in Baguio City is a 4-hour drive north of Manila and one of 10 Districts in the Philippines with 83 clubs and 2,450 members. They recorded a +148 growth since 1st July 2022. Their 2023 District Conference in the summer capital of Baguio City, has attracted over 500 delegates.

In addition to representing the Rotary International President at the District Conference, as a Specialized Representative, Andy will conduct his high-impact interactive 90-minute workshop on the "5-step formula to start a new style club" the day before the conference for the 83 President Elects of 2023-24 and the G-Train members. As Gold Coast-based District Governor of D9640 in 2020-21 during his year, Andy started 5 new style Rotary Clubs, 2 Satellite Rotary Clubs, 3 Rotaract Clubs, an Interact club, and a Rotex club to lead his district to a record net of +169 members with a 14.4% growth to be the world's 25th largest growth district and attracted 10% under '40s and 38% female members to their 1,346 membership.

This is an honour for all Rotarians in Zone 8 for the current RI President to appreciate and recognize one of our dynamic Assistant Rotary Coordinators to share his expertise in starting new style clubs with one of the fastest-growing Rotary Districts in Asia Pacific Region outside our Zone.
