Zone 8 Membership Snapshot, 31 March 2022

The zone grew this month with a great effort of +29 members. However, this time of year usually sees our membership trend upwards before the race to the finish line and drop off in numbers. Even though we are ahead for the month, we are down on where we were at this time last year by -1,207.

At the top of the leader board and holding on strong is D9620 which continues to grow with +78 members (3.7%). D9455 still holds on to second place with +34 (3.3%) while D9560 slides into third with +30 (1.76%). Special shout out to D9910 for being the only district in New Zealand & the Pacific Islands to achieve grow, with +19 (2.1%) – the fourth largest growth percentage-wise in the zone.

Even though we chartered 6 new Rotary clubs this year, the zone has a net loss of 8 clubs. Our retention rate continues to dip even further from 93.3% to 92.7%. At the same time, the percentage of clubs with membership goals continues to rise, from 41.5% to 42.5%.

D9640 still has the highest percentage of female members (37.05%) and the highest percentage of members under 40 (10.03%). The zone averages are 29.8% and 3.7% respectively.

227 membership leads have been received in the zone. 197 leads were reviewed by districts but only 58 were assigned to clubs. 13 were admitted to Rotary.
