Year 9 Cohort
A. Hay & J. Te Huia, Deans of Year 9
Year 9 Tāne Raukura Camp
The key objectives of camp were to reconnect with nature, embrace a challenge, foster and develop relationships, celebrate the beginning of the year, and set goals and aspirations as these men move forward into their first year of secondary school.
It was a pleasure to see our boys in an outdoor element and enjoying themselves. We had nothing but positive feedback from staff and students in regards to their experience and opportunities they were provided.
100% Attendance Draw
Attendance is a huge focus at Rotorua Boys’ High School as we know that excellent attendance leads to and supports excellent achievement at school. As a way of celebrating those boys who are present every day for a full week, we have introduced a new challenge to win a $5 canteen voucher. Every student who has been present for every day and every period of that week, goes into the draw.
Our winners so far are:
Week 8 - Te Kona Tumata Week 9 - Casey Coetzee Week 10 - Taine Dyson
In terms of our attendance we would like to minimise our lateness to classes and the occasional missed period. For students who do have patterns of lateness or truanting we will be referring them to Te Honoa Toi to make up their missed time. Te Honoa Toi is available every Monday - Thursday from 3-4pm for the boys to attend, however we will be present to support every Monday.
We look forward to seeing the boys return for Term 2.
