Kia ora koutou,

As we head into Term Two we look forward to a number of exciting Performing Arts event that we are preparing for. In Week 3 we look forward to the annual Super 8 Cultural Festival.

We are hosting the festival this year and look forward to hosting our 7 brother Super 8 schools at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre. We compete in a number of various disciplines including - Kapa Haka, Music, Drama, Dance, Pasifika, Debating, Oratory, Theatresports, Chess and Art. Currently we are Super8 Champions in Music Group and Senior Art.

Other big events that are coming up this year are the Big Sing which is held in Tauranga featuring two of our Choirs, Rockquest and Tangata Beats also held at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre where we have a number of bands competing and also “Freaky Friday” - the RGHS Production which involves a number of our boys on stage, backstage and within the realm of sound and lighting.

Our new Bucket Drumming Group “Raukura Drum Squad” have also been practicing hard and look forward to sharing the skills and beats they have been practicing at the upcoming home 1st XV games.
