Summer Sports

We have reached the end of our summer sports season and are moving promptly into our winter codes. Thank you to our whānau who have supported coaches and managers over the summer to ensure our rangatahi are able to remain active and enjoy some of the highlighted moments below; 


Cricket: We have witnessed a growth in our number of cricket players to 45 of which 55% are Māori and Pasfika! 16 x BOP selections, 2 x Northern District Māori selections, 1 x Northern District Academy selection, and 1 x NZ Māori Team selection


Waka Ama: We had a strong group of 34 paddlers competing against 2200 students representing 125 schools at the recent NZSS Waka ama event winning four gold and two silver medals. 


Volleyball: Attended the NZSS Tournament for the first time in our school’s history


Futsal: Top 8 finish at the recent NZSS Champs


Rugby League: BOPDRL winners for both U15 and U18 Teams. Kayden Jennings-Kokiri was named tournament MVP. 


Athletics: Four Athletes (Manaia Christiansen, Mataatua Nikora, Kingston Ryan, and Jamie Petersen) advanced to the North Island Champs as a result of placings in discus, shot put, long jump, and 800m. Kingston was placed 1st in the 800m and 1500m whilst Manaia was 1st in Shot Put and Discus. They will now make their way to the Nationals in Hastings later in the year.
