A. Hine, Gateway Coordinator
Thank you to Carolyn Vincent of GRIP for hosting the Green Seeds workshop on the 25th of February. 8 students are now equipped with knowledge to put into practice when they go out for work experience to Woolworths this term.
The first career pathways event was hosted by QE Health on Wednesday the 26th of February. Students learnt about therapies using the natural thermal waters of Whangapiro and had the opportunity to go behind the scenes to explore health support and care. This included mental health and addiction, social support, child and youth support, disability, home and community, and aged care. This was a very informative event where students were able to network with employers to explore careers, courses, and Gateway work experience opportunities.
A massive shout out to AT Cook Contracting Limited for the donation of work boots for Gateway students.
If you have a business and would like to partner with Rotorua Boys’ High School to help students gain work experience please contact Angie Hine on 0211909272.
