Year 13 Cohort

Awhimate Nikora —

C. Makan, Dean of Year 13

Tena Koutou Katoa,

What an awesome term it has been for our Year 13s! We’re well into our academic program, wrapping up the summer sports season, kicking off winter sports, and diving into the many cultural activities our boys are involved in, all while planning for their future pathways.

As academic requirements start to ramp up, regular attendance is more important than ever. The Ministry of Education requires students to maintain at least 90% attendance, yet currently, only 57% of our cohort are meeting this mark. Attendance plays a crucial role in success, so we encourage whānau to support their sons in maintaining strong attendance. A huge congratulations to the students who have maintained 100% attendance so far this term!

Celebrating Student Success

A massive congratulations to Dylan-James Katipa and Dean Richardson, who were awarded the prestigious First Foundation Scholarship this term! Out of hundreds of applicants across the country, they were selected as two of the 91 recipients of this incredible award, which provides financial assistance for university fees, an industry mentor, and paid work experience over the next four years.

A special shoutout to Dean, who was given the honour of speaking on behalf of all incoming scholars, an incredible privilege and achievement. Well done, boys! We are extremely proud of you.
