Rotorua House
C. Hay, Head of Rotorua House
Kia ora Koutou,
Rotorua House has started the year well. While we began the term in 4th place for attendance, the boys soon stepped up and slowly but surely we have improved greatly. As of week 8 we sit at 85.4% attendance. While there is still plenty of room to improve, I am pleased we are tracking in the right direction.
In regards to the house competition, it was fantastic to start the year with such a highlight - winning the Tabloids event. The boys were stoked as a win in tabloids had been a long time coming for Rotorua House. Massive shout-outs to our House Captain Te Manaakitanga Pryor and other leaders such as Desmond Mafile’o and James Hapi who also supported the boys!
This was followed up by a pretty solid showing at the inter-house football. Some awesome games in the Seniors by Timothy Ekwunta, Max Porteous and Cody Shilton and in the Juniors by Andrew Ekwunta and Tipene Gray.
While some of the results didn’t go our way I was extremely proud of the efforts the boys put in and that will hold us in good stead for the future in this year's competition.
Bring on the Basketball and Haka Comp in Term 2!
