Year 10 Cohort

W. Naera & J. Assen, Deans of Year 10

We are excited to introduce the Year 10 Deans for 2025 – Whetu Naera and Joseph Assen. We are not only dedicated to supporting our Year 10 students but also passionate educators within the Social Sciences department, teaching Commerce, Business Studies, and Accounting.

Now in our second year as Deans, we are looking forward to continuing our work with students, guiding them through their academic journey, and helping them develop the skills they need for success. As boys prepare for the transition into NCEA next year, Year 10 becomes even more important in equipping them for the challenges ahead. This year is a key time for developing strong learning habits, self-discipline, and resilience—skills that will set them up for success in their senior years.

Attendance

At the time of writing, our attendance rate currently sits at 84%, which is well below our target of 90%. Regular attendance is key to academic success, and we encourage all students to make the effort to be present every day. Whānau, we appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of attendance and ensuring students are at school and engaged in their learning.
