J. Te Huia, Director of Rugby
As we embark on the 2025 Rugby Season our Academy is thriving and honing their skills.
We would just like to extend our welcome to Mr Hika Elliot who is adding his valuable skill set to our already stellar team of Mr Richard Kingi, Mr Courtney Mita, Matua Rhys Hohepa, Mr Sam Cameron and Mr Jeremy Te Huia .
As I write this email we have had a strong indication from our Year 9 students and have had 79 students join the programme this year. In our junior programme we will be focussing on culture and what it means to be a part of our programme. In our rugby academy, we focus on developing positive habits both on and off the field to foster well-rounded athletes. We believe that consistent growth comes from the formation of good habits that promote discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
Additionally, we emphasise the value of communication and teamwork. Athletes are encouraged to engage in open dialogue, whether it's giving feedback or supporting teammates. This fosters a positive and collaborative environment, both on and off the field. These habits help athletes build physical strength, improve technical skills, and develop a strong mindset.
Overall, our academy is dedicated to instilling habits that promote success, not only in rugby but in life. We strive to create athletes who understand the importance of consistency, accountability, and mutual respect.
We look forward to our year in Rugby and look forward to representing our community.
