Josh McEntee, Year 13
On February 20-21, the Year 13 Te Wero cohort took on the highly anticipated challenge, a tradition ingrained in their journey. This intense two-day event tested both mental and physical endurance, covering 112 km of running and biking. It included a 20km run up Mount Ngongotaha, 85km of biking from kura to Waiotapu and back, and summiting Mount Kakaramea (Rainbow Mountain).
This ultimate test of resilience and teamwork brought the boys together. With a record-breaking 124 participants, they upheld the legacy of this epic endurance challenge.
A huge mihi and thank you to the incredible catering team, who met us at every stop with food and drink to keep us going and provided nourishing meals throughout the journey.
A special acknowledgment also goes to the dedicated teachers who accompanied us the whole way—this challenge would not have been possible without Mr. Lockwood, Mr. Taylor, Mr. Makan, Mr. Te Huia, Matua Rhys, Mr. Shaw, Mr. MacDonald, and Mr. Mita.
Ngā mihi
Josh McEntee, Year 13
