Kia Ora Whānau and welcome to 2023!

It certainly has been a turbulent year with weather, our thoughts and prayers go to those who have whānau affected by Cyclone Gabrielle.

At Rautāwhiri we escaped the worst of the weather, we are in process of contacting our sister schools - Gisborne, Napier, and Hastings Girls' High School's. We are offering what support we can, with what has been quite a significant event for these regions to contend with.

Other than this, we have appreciated the calm start to this year. Our Year 9's have enjoyed sometime at Maketū on their noho, next week will see the start of full school events with Athletics and Tabloids on the back field.

Already many out of school activities have started with the school productions (Legally Blonde), summer sports (rowing, waka ama, 3x3 basketball and volleyball) and the Teine Pacifica group performing at the opening of the Sir Howard Morrison Centre.

For new students', please look to get involved in activities, talk to your whānau teacher to find our what you can do to get involved.

2023 is going to be exciting year for our kura. There are plenty of opportunities to come into the school, please take these opportunities if you are able.

The Prefects' Investiture will be held in the ARENA on Wednesday, 1 March 2023.  At this Investiture Assembly each senior prefect will be officially acknowledged as a Senior Prefect, recite an Oath and be introduced to the rest of the school.
