Inter-House Events

Academic Quiz: Thank you to Rosie and Heriata for organising the Friday Quiz - first event won by the Math department.

Arts: Our Arts prefects held a range of lunchtime activities to promote NZ Music Month of May. There were performances from students who have been practicing their musical items and the girls were treated to the beautiful voices of their peers.

Cultural: A selection of the Pasifika group taught Samoan rhythms and dance to promote Samoan language week.

Kahui Hauora: Support for the I am Hope Foundation was a success with a Gumboot Mufti day. We even went as far as having a gumboot throwing competition that was heaps of fun.

The RGHS Rainbow Diversity Club held a games and quiz session in honour of anti-bullying week.

Sporting - Interhouse: Inter-house activities have begun and the prefects have done an amazing job at organizing a plethora of events for our students to enjoy every Thursday at lunchtime. Inter-house now includes academic and cultural activities to cater to the diverse interests of our students, expanding beyond sports. Students have since enjoyed multi-sports, just dance/jump jam and recently learning how to do Samoan dancing in support of Samoan language week. We look forward to seeing what other inter-house initiatives our prefects have to offer.

Cross Country: A huge congratulations to those students who participated and completed the cross country. We look forward to it again next year. Many thanks also go out to the teachers who organized this event.

Athletics, Swimming Sports & House Chants:
We started off the summer vibes of school with athletics and ended our summer vibes with swimming sports. Our first lot of events representing our 4 houses. We had a number of students who entered the championship events which saw some of the girls represent our kura nationally. We couldn't forget about our non-championship events where the students had heaps of fun with the additional competitiveness. We ended both events with our house chants. All houses worked tirelessly during their own lunch hour to master these house chants to ensure their display of talent was, as they say, on point! All house captains and their team of senior students cannot be thanked enough for their efforts to ensure the students had enough time to have their kai and be ready for practice with words, actions and choreography. A huge congratulations to Karenga who won house chant at athletics and Rukuwai who won house chant at swimming sports. Kaore e ārikarika nga mihi kia koutou nga manu taiko o Rautāwhiri.
