RGHS fielded 3 teams in the Bay of Plenty Rugby 7’s tournament held in Paengaroa on Tuesday March 14th. 

It was good to be back out playing with Rugby BOP implementing a strict Covid safety management plan. All teams had some really strong showings with all players getting decent game time out on the field. We were fortunate to have ex RGHS students Helena Dou’ble and Kimoana Niupalau who came back as coaches for our U19 teams who only lost one game throughout the tournament. 

Our U15 teams were depleted considerably because of Covid or Household contacts and so we had to move players around from the original team selections made earlier in the Term. 

Thank you to everyone who played in different teams on the day and to the coaching and management team - Matua Richie, Miss Tamati and Mrs Katu. We would also like to thank Jaylene Takuira and Hinei Taute-Collier for assisting with transport on the day.
