School has started and our girls have been very active both during the holidays and in the first three weeks of Kura.

Touch

Several of our senior and junior girls represented us well at the NZ Touch Nationals held in Christchurch last week representing the BOP at their different age groups.

BOP U18 Team had the following RGHS students:

  • Grace Tuakana-Hudson
  • Tayla Turuta
  • Sierra Harris - named the Most Valuable Player of the Team


BOP U16 Mixed won NZ Championship Title

Congrats to the following RGHS Girls:

  • Kahurangi Taute Coliier
  • Maraea Makiha
  • Chantelle Lawson

Sports Round up

Volleyball
Summer Sports are in full swing with Volleyball have 2 teams enter into the BOP Championship Qualifying tournament held over 3 weekends

Mrs Katu has worked hard to ensure we have Senior teams for 2023 and the girls along with there coaches have been training very hard too.

Racquet Sports
Please direct all inquiries to Mrs Beamish who is our TIC of all these sports and who is only to happy to help you.

Futsal
Futsal is underway and the girls are training and playing every Sunday ai the RGHS Arena. The team is looking to compete at the national tournament.

Touch
Our school touch team is training and playing each week too under the guidance of their coach Steve Hudson.

Waka Ama
Whaea Filly has started Waka Ama and our girls will compete in the NZSS Waka Ama Championship at the end of the term in Rotorua. The girls train every Wednesday and Thursday and We have a large number of girls participating.

Basketball 3 x 3
Basketball trainings have started for 3x3 basketball in the Arena for both junior and senior teams on Mondays and Wednesdays

Sports Fees - Payments
All Sports fees must be paid prior to the start date of your daughters chosen sport. This can be done at the front office or online with the students name and sport attached. They will not partake in sport until a permission slip is signed and payment is made. Thank you in advance


Winter Sports Musters for 2023

Several WINTER Codes are now mustering up and trialing for winter sports teams. Please check the year group sports and RGHS Pages on face book to get all the information or our school website.

We have a large number of sports available at our kura so please get your daughters to keep checking, so as not to miss out.

You can also phone the School and ask for me in the Sports Office and I will help guide you to where or what it is you need to know.

Athletic & Tabloid Sports is the next Sporting event on our school calendar. This will be held on Thursday 23rd February starting at 9.30pm.

All whanau are welcome so please come along and watch this awesome event

Sport Bay of Plenty Entries

Sport Bay of Plenty host a multitude of sporting events during the year for our students, both as individuals or teams.

If your daughter is talented in a sport which we don’t offer at school please get in touch with me so I can enter her into these events and or let me know so I can register her in my sports book so as to recognise her sport and achievements for 2023.

Especially of individual Sports like:  eg Golf, Racquet Sports, Swimming and Athletics, Cycling and Mountain Biking and of the Martial Arts
