Art and Technology Classes
Food
Over lockdown we have had some committed cooks keeping their whanau fed, and improving their skills!
Ti Amo Farmer (Year 11) practiced making her red velvet cake, and did an amazing job! She told me it was perfectly moist and absolutely delicious
Faith Jones (Year 10) took her initiative in creating her very own chocolate slice, when she sent me the email I had to make one too.
Digital
Lets Get Coding
Our Year 10 Digital Technology students were introduced to computer science at a two hour workshop that took place at school in August. The purpose of the interactive workshop was to implement these algorithms by creating programs that use inputs, outputs, sequence, basic selection using comparative operators, and interaction (repeating part of the algorithm with a loop). Students were exposed to the world of computer science and inspired by female IT experts that work in a predominantly male industry.
Painting
Some senior art paint packages were sent out on request to students in lockdown.
Anahera Lewis (Year 13) shows us some sensitive and beautiful lockdown work-in-progress for her Level 3 folio board.
At the end of our senior Video meetings, we like to play with some backgrounds. Max often played her guitar and sang while we had one-on-one conversations about artist models.
