Z Club September 2022

Barb Stewart —

We have held our Mufti Day. This was successful although there weren’t a lot of students at school due to Seniors just finishing exams and the next day was a Teacher only day. We managed to get $120 cash which will be put towards a fund being sent to a Ukraine Zonta Club to help victims of the war there. We collected about 100 cans of food that we delivered to the St Johns Presbretarian Church. They have a food bank plus a shop out at Ngongotaha that helps out this small local community.

The gathering of Bras has also gone well with contributions from the RGHS school community and our local Zonta Club. We sorted 145 bras the other day so will push it along to try and for 200. At the end of the term I will take what we have to the Tauranga Project Uplift office.

Women's Suffrage Day our Zonta Club tidies up the Zonta Grove which is at the Tree Trust in Rotorua. Alicia Sigley my President came along to talk about what opportunities girls have these plus plus what we have been doing in Z Club. The ladies loved her confidence and what she had to say. In the photo Alicia is standing in front of a Kate Sheppard Camellia.

Our next project is to join in on a Bake Sale from different clubs at school in the last week of term. The funds raised will go to the Ukraine fund. This happened yesterday. We earned $180. I will be able to contribute about $400 to the Zonta Club fund that is going to the Ukraine to help women and children affected by the War.
