2022 Year 9 Dean

Janaye Biddle-Kite —

A successful year is now behind us with plenty to celebrate.

In spite of a worldwide pandemic; COVID 19 and many annual events being cancelled, our Year 9 students have demonstrated perseverance and made it through their first year of high school. Our girls can be truly proud of themselves.

An increase in whanau involvement has grown significantly and as a result, student morale towards learning and leadership has improved. There are many rich and diverse areas where success has been displayed at its best. The outstanding achievements gained regionally and nationally are something to be proud of. Through their involvement in Kapa Haka, In the Heights Production, Basketball, Rugby, Netball, Dance and Inter-house activities, our Year 9’s got to experience the adrenaline rush of achieving success in things they set their mind to.

I would like to end this year by encouraging students and parents/caregivers to reflect on their experiences this year and learn from them. Developing positive growth mindsets through education for our tamariki is an ongoing and shared responsibility. I hope to continue to strengthen ‘student-teacher-whanau’ relationships so that our future Year 10 students can continue to experience educational success at every turn.

Nga mihi kia koutou,

Janaye Biddle-Kite
