WHANAU TIME:

Please ensure your child is at school by 8.35 am when the first bell goes for Whanau period at 8.40 am as it is important for the attendance check each day and for students to work on their ‘My Mahi” mentoring programme which we have brought in this year.

LUNCHES:

Students continue to be provided daily with healthy lunches from Ka Pai Kai, therefore we ask that you do not drop off take away meals to the students during class time as these disrupt their learning. If a delivery is necessary, it must be taken to Reception at the front of the school for your daughter to collect during Break 1 (lunchtime) only. We thank you for your support in this matter.

TE AO VALUES:

We are a PB4L School (Positive Behaviour for Learning) who has created a culture that encourages positive behaviours and interactions between all. Our approach is to teach students the positive behaviours and to acknowledge student’s through the use of TE AO recognitions, certificates and badges when they show these positive behaviours.

We have linked our values to each of the four school Houses:

Hinemoa = Resilience

Karenga = Respect

Rangiuru = Empathy

Rukuwai = Integrity

Our TE AO Values are:

T- the willingness to LEARN (Resilience)

E = Engaging to ACHIEVE (Integrity)

A = Always shows RESPECT (Respect)

O = Offers to SERVE (Empathy).

We focus one TE AO value each term. Our Term 1 value is:

T = the willingness to LEARN (Resilience)

This looks like:

  • Arriving at school with a positive attitude and being ready to learn.
  • Having the correct equipment needed for each class.
  • Being Punctual to class and school.
  • Being engaged in lessons and being attentive in assemblies.
  • Completing all assessments on time.
  • Asking questions.
  • Asking for assistance with learning.
  • Tracking subject assessment results.
  • Aiming for those higher grades in NCEA – Merits and Excellence.
