Mr A Kiss —

From the Managers’ desk….

Our Rautawhiri football team has completed 8 games in term two. The season has started with much excitement and anticipation, especially due to a large number of new players signing up, bringing a new set of skills. Although trainings did not always see large numbers of players, the season saw the team emerging as a unit. The new players are hard workers who are eager to prove they deserve a spot on the field.

Meanwhile, many of the senior players represent the power and tenacity that they have developed over their years of playing together. Apart from a few losses, some very narrow; the majority of games were won by our team. Some of them saw multiple players score more than one goal, and more than once our team ended up scoring 10 or more goals. It is great to see many of the players develop more confidence on the pitch and into better team players.

Special thanks must go out to our coaches, Adrian and Jeanette Lysaght, who give up a lot of their time to coach, referee and look after the team. Also, it is great to have a small group of supporters who are always there no matter the weather.

There are still a number of games left to play, so we are looking forward to returning after the term-break.
