Across the Sports Coordinators Desk: Term 1

As term 1 settles at the end of a messy period with our many disruptions, I would like to congratulate our sports girls for the efforts they have put in to attend trials and trainings and for those who have managed to be part of sport this term, well done to you.

We have had a 3 Futsal teams train and play each week on a Sunday, in our Arena. Once again, we have a senior girls football team for the 2022 season. Thank you to all of the parents and staff involved in making this all happen.

The 3 sports Academies are all up and running as the winter season is once again upon us.

Listed below are our TIC in Charge of the various sports we have at RGHS. Thank you for giving up your time to make sport happen again in 2022.

Sporting Successes for Term 1 - 2022

BASKETBALL NZ U17

Hana Lacey & Carly Ohia

Hana has made the NZ U17 Girls Basketball Team and Carly Ohia is a non-travelling reserve. This team will travel to the qualifying tournament. If they make the cut, they will then travel to the U17 World championship. We are so proud of you both.

NETBALL NZSS Team

Mya Tamamasui - is currently trialling for the NZSS Team and the team will be announced later this month

We have a number of girls at various tournaments during the holidays, so good luck to you all and I look forward to hearing all your results and accolades
