Rugby & Rugby League Update

various —

U16 Team - Top of the Table

Our U16 rugby team has continued to play well in the Baywide 10 aside competition. We played the other top ranked team WHHS and came away with a slim win 27-25 which took us to the top of the table. We still pool games to go before playing semi’s and finals.

On Monday 20th June, we hosted Opotiki College at home and followed the game with a kai of Pizza and hot chips afterwards. This was a good opportunity for the players to mix together afterwards as well as sending Opotiki off on their 2 hour trip home with a full tummy. Thank you to our parent helpers led by Ray Smalley-Huch who enabled this opportunity.

1st XV Update - Chiefs Manawa Secondary School Girls Competition 2022

Our 1st XV have been enjoying the challenge that comes with making the step up to play schools from different provincial rugby unions. We have hosted Sacred Heart Hamilton at school and then travelled to play Sacred Heart New Plymouth in Te Kuiti to the following week. While the results did not go in our favour, we have been learning a lot from the competition. Congratulations to our Players of the Day for both games - McKenzie Anderson-Tito and Rohakino Niupalau.
