The Science Department has been busy with Conservation Week Activities.

A quiz afternoon gave lots of laughs and knowledge, as well as congratulations to the challenging student team. 

Students are engaging in producing biopolymers, and Conservation is important for Health and Safety which includes includes First Aid.

Pūhoro Academy

On Tuesday the 6th September the Pūhoro team went to their first wānanga at Toi Ohomai.

 A highlight for the students was the interactive patient in the Nursing School and introduction on how to take the patient’s pulse and vital signs. 

Another highlight for many of the students was the mixed reality headset that had them following and holding a virtual humming bird. 

There was also discussion around how mixed reality can be used within health care and industry. 

 We are looking forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Pūhoro Academy in the coming years.
