Tourism Trip

On Tuesday 20th June, the Year 12 and 13 Tourism classes headed out on their first excursion of the year, the students were accompanied by Whaea Chris and Ms Tamati. The haerenga aligned with the assessments that the classes are currently working through.

First up on the Term 2 Tourism Tour was The Buried Village of Te Wairoa which the staff kindly opened just for us. The girls were given an Educational Talk by one of the knowledgeable staff members and then took a hikoi around the village. Wharenui below ground, historical artefacts, information signs, farm animals and a beautiful waterfall at the end of the trail was a great way to start the day.

We then moved on to the Zorb where the girls were able to soak in a nice warm spa pool and roll down the hill in giant inflatable spheres a few times.

To end the day, we travelled just down the road to the Trick Art Gallery which is the only interactive art gallery of its kind in Aotearoa. The students took plenty of pictures with the illusions on the walls and had plenty of laughs together.

All in all a great day of fun, learning and whanaungatanga.

Mauriora!
