Bicycle & Scooter Safety

RJHS —

We encourage our students to be active and independent by riding their bikes, scooters or skateboards to school. However, it's important to ensure their safety and the safety of others on the road.

To help us create a safe and respectful environment for all road users, we kindly request that you remind your student to:

  • Wear a helmet at all times while cycling. Helmets are essential for protecting your child's head in case of an accident.

  • We strongly encourage students riding e-scooters wear helmets and ride at appropriate speeds on footpaths and/or roads.

  • Be courteous to other road users. This includes obeying traffic signals, using hand signals and sharing the road with pedestrians and other cyclists.

By following these simple guidelines, we can help ensure that our students arrive at school safely and contribute to a positive road culture.

Please remind your student to always wear their helmet whilst on their scooter or bike and be aware of the road safety rules.

Recently one of our students was involved in an accident on their way to school whilst riding their scooter and we obviously do not wish this to happen to any of our students.

Thank you.
