Over the next week, ākonga will be making their subject selection inside both of their Wānanga Ako, with guidance from their Kaiārahi (Advisor)

With our change in learning structure the selection process is going to look slightly different than normal. Ākonga have been exploring how to make connections between a range of learning areas, pathways, passions and interests inside the Wānanga Ako and are now ready to confirm their choice of context and the subjects they wish to connect to.

Before the end of the term, please encourage your child to lead conversations with you around the different subjects they intend to select. Each ākonga will be using a connections tool to help them see the links between the subjects and their own pathways, passions and interests.This is a hard copy tool and it can help them to lead the conversations with you.

The selections will be made within Advisory with the guidance of the Kaiārahi to offer some holistic perspective and guidance, which will take into consideration the NCEA requirements of your child.
