ROTOTUNA HIGH SCHOOLS

MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL

WEDNESDAY 18 SEPTEMBER

6.00 - 8.00 PM

KŌMAKORAU (STAFFROOM)

Join us at the Rototuna High Schools Mid-Autumn Festival presented by the RSHS International Committee and RJHS Cultural Wairua Rōpū.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is the second most important festival in the Chinese calendar after Chinese New Year and is observed in many Asian countries. Families gather in union to watch the full moon and to share a special pastry called mooncake. This event aims to bring together families and individuals from all backgrounds to cherish the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival, fostering a sense of community and joy.

The celebration will be a cultural extravaganza featuring traditional demonstrations (calligraphy and paper lantern making) and performances by students with traditional Chinese musical instruments. Come along and bring some mooncakes or a plate to share. We will have tea, coffee and soft drinks available.
