Our New Principal of Rototuna Senior High School - Miranda Makin

On Monday 12th October 2020, Rototuna Senior High School welcomed aboard Miranda Makin as our new principal.

In the morning, the whole Senior School gathered in the gym as the pōwhiri commenced. Alongside the kapa haka roopu, we sang waiata and welcomed Miranda to Rototuna Senior High School. It was so lovely to see Miranda joined by her family, friends and colleagues as she begins this new journey. After the official start to the pōwhiri, our manukura spoke, giving Miranda a warm welcome on behalf of the students at RSHS. Following this, Paula Southgate the Mayor of Hamilton spoke. She talked about her journey, education, politics, how we as students are the future of our city and the importance of the role Miranda will have within our kura. Lastly, to conclude the pōwhiri, Miranda said a few words about how she wishes to lead our school forward, and thanked her family, friends and colleagues for their continued support.
